Nov. 2 is Election Day and we have a number of choices to make in the commonwealth. I've seen the candidates, and I find it disheartening to see some who simply attack their opponent rather than put forth their own vision. Our town, our state, and our country all face significant challenges. Our elected officials should be people who understand these challenges and have the wherewithal to move us in the right direction.
It is with these thoughts in mind that I am supporting the reelection of Jen Benson for State Representative. Jen has a balanced approach in getting this state on track. She has consistently looked at the state budget to cut waste and improve efficiencies. State aid is a very important component of our town budget, and she has worked tirelessly to protect local aid. Without this local aid from the state, Harvard would have been forced to either lay off employees, cut services, or pass overrides.
Jen has worked very hard and effectively for Harvard and I urge people to vote for her on Nov. 2.
