I will be voting for Jen Benson for state representative in November.
Benson has been an accessible and responsive representative for her constituents during her first term. She has been visible all over the district, getting to know the needs of the people in the towns she represents. In her second term, she will continue to translate that knowledge into actions that will benefit the people of her district.
Benson has been a strong voice for education in the Legislature, as she was as chair of the Lunenburg School Committee when I had my first contact with her. I found her to be a thoughtful listener who acted promptly when I called attention to how a lack of professionals in the school libraries had a negative impact on student achievement.
Jen understands the urgent need for adequate health care for our senior citizens. After she was elected to the Legislature, I called on her to help me navigate the state's health-care system for my elderly parents.
She quickly helped get them the care they needed and saved our family some out-of pocket expenses.
Benson is an independent thinker with strong values. She works hard and gets results. I urge you to join me in voting for Jen Benson for state representative of the 37th Middlesex District on Nov. 2.
