Jen Benson, State Representative, 37th Middlesex District
Benson works hard for the district
Milree Keeling of Lunenburg

October 28, 2010—The Sentinel and Enterprise

Rep. Jen Benson has a track record of working hard for the people of her district.

She learned her job fast, starting before she was even sworn in by asking the governor directly for immediate help during the ice storm emergency. She hasn't slowed her pace since. Rep. Benson actively seeks our input about what we need from our state government and she listens. She closely reads and evaluates bills - and works with Republicans and Democrats to make them better for the people in her district, or else she votes against them. She actually attends all of her committee hearings, because she wants to hear from the people who would be affected by new laws. She has never backed down on preserving local aid for our towns, even though the votes she had to take to do so were sometimes unpopular. Rep. Benson is focused on improving conditions for small businesses, the heart our our district's economy; on public education; on public utilities and our safety; and on our environment. She has promoted legislation that has passed in all of these areas, to our direct benefit. She is now a seasoned legislator who is known in the state house for her independence, her problem-solving, and her integrity. On Nov. 2, I will vote to return Rep. Jen Benson to Boston, because we need more than rhetoric - we need results.
